Confucianism is an ethical and philosophical religion based on the teachings of the Chinese philosopher Confucius. It involves a system of moral, social, political, philosophical, and religious thought which has had a great influence on the culture and history of Eastern Asia. It is focused on the improvement of virtues and moral perfection, and can be viewed as more of a path to an ideal world rather than a religion.
